Hotel Sales Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Hotel Sales Manager to join our team. The Hotel Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling the hotel's rooms, services, and amenities to corporate clients, travel agents, event planners, and other potential guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of new sales opportunities, establishing contact with potential clients, and working with potential clients through the sales process
  • Responding to RFPs and sales leads for group and event business
  • Development of proposals and sales contracts for events and group blocks hosted at hotel
  • Seeking new customers through strategic outbound sales efforts for group, extended stay, and transient business alongside meetings and events
  • Managing lead sources to ensure quantity and quality of leads
  • Developing and maintaining long term business relationships with existing and future clients, and ensuring a consistent stream of repeat business
  • Working with clients on event planning and providing support to clients during events hosted at hotel
  • Conducting property tours and fielding inquiries from potential customers who visit the hotel
  • Displaying awareness and compliance with hotel’s security, safety, emergency and energy procedures.
  • Posting all banquet billing charges on the day of the event.
  • Working with chef to develop and price catering menus 
  • Conducting tours and client planning meetings in coordination with the banquet manager
  • Supporting operations and revenue teams as needed, and perform other duties as assigned. The Company reserves the right to add or change at any time.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a Sales and Marketing role at hotel of similar size and quality and 1 year of food and beverage experience
  • Strong background in selling rooms, including thorough knowledge of sales techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong finance, accounting, and quantitative skills
  • Sensitivity to guest satisfaction, with a keen attention to exceeding guest expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with different types of personalities using sound judgment and discretion
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit
  • BA/BS , 4-5 year degree or foreign equivalency preferred, but not required
  • Deep experience with banquets and food and beverage operations
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translate these into sales solutions across all market segments
  • Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and detail orientation, the ability to multi-task and think outside the box, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
  • Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
  • Able to twist, bend and reach
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds
